Katrina cashes in on her net worth
Katrina Kaif will be creating a website where distressed female folk can get help and support
'Tis the season to give and share, and it appears Katrina Kaif is planning to do just that by creating a website for distressed women, who need urgent and immediate help and support, but don't know where to take their problem to, for the most effective remedy.
Says a source close to the actress, "For a very long time Kat has been quietly helping her mother with all the philanthropic work that she does in Pondicherry, for deprived children.
Katrina feels an online helpline for women through a website would be a good idea.
Earlier she was in the midst of designing her own website. But at this point of time she feels a website devoted to women who are too embarrassed to discuss their distress on the phone and television, would be far more in-sync with what she feels is the correct way to use her strength on the internet."
Katrina, who was voted the most-searched personality on a popular search engine on the internet, says, "I am told I am ahead of people who have achieved a lot more than me. I really don't take that seriously.
Just being an Internet-favourite is not of much use unless you do something substantial with what you have. I am looking at other ways to carry forward the clout that my name might generate on the web. But it's too early to share my plans."
A noble gesture, but the cynics in us cannot help but notice that her film on domestic violence is also on the anvil. In February, this year, the actress had in fact also attended an event along with Saif Ali Khan, to spread awareness against domestic abuse.
