Priyanka and SRK bond big time! Spicy details insideSpicy details of what happened at the rehearsals for an awards function at Macau

Priyanka Chopra and Shah Rukh Khan are once again in the news as sources say that the two bonded big time during the rehearsals of an awards function in Macau.

In fact, PC ignored ex-beau Shahid Kapoor and kept Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif waiting as she went on practicing her piece with SRK.

Our sources tell us, "Shah Rukh and Priyanka were doing a skit, so before the event they rehearsed it, as is the norm. However, they didn't stop at just a couple of practices, but went on till they finished over half a dozen rehearsals.

Though their skit was about ten minute-long, they used the stage for about an hour and a half." Fortunately for them, help came before the two began their seventh rehearsal.

"Mohammed bhai, one of the Morani brothers who were organising the show, went up to Shah Rukh to request him if he could allow Shahid and Ranbir to rehearse on the stage. That's when SRK realised that they had taken considerable time and left," says our source.

Interestingly, Priyanka didn't even bother to greet Shahid at the venue at all. She is said to have ignored him.

If the bonding between Don and his junglee billi was expected, not many anticipated that two young Kapoors would get along so well instantly.

Sensing that Ranbir Kapoor was nervous as he had never danced on stage before, Shahid went up to him to make him feel at ease.

"Having trained under Shaimak Davar, Shahid is very familiar with performing on stage. More so because he has also performed many times since he became an actor.

On the other hand, while Ranbir has hosted award shows, he hasn't performed on stage. So he was a bit nervous," recalls our source.

Shahid requested Morani to let Ranbir and Katrina rehearse on one side of the stage while he practised his moves on the other side.

Our informer elaborates, "Since he felt that Ranbir could do with more time to rehearse his performance, Shahid decided to let him also practise his moves on the stage at the same time."

Veena Malik assaults Vedita: She banged my head on the rod

Veena Malik assaults Vedita: She banged my head on the rod

Veena Malik assaults Vedita: She banged my head on the rodA co-star has accused the controversial Veena Malik of purposely injuring her during a fight sequence for the film 'Mumbai 125'.

Malik was reportedly not on good terms with co-actress Vedita Pratap, who is learnt to have been injured on her forehead as a result of the scene.

According to sources, the Pakistani actress had to pull Pratap by the neck and bang her head on an iron rod in a scene but it got too far. The director, Hemant Madhukar, had to be called in as the furious actress said that Malik had intentionally hurt her.

She was reportedly nursed at a city hospital and is said to be currently undergoing treatment to get rid of the scar on her forehead. Pratap confirmed the incident and accused Malik of 'over acting'.

"It was an action sequence. I was supposed to be beaten up. I don't know what happened to Veena. She actually hurt me and she did it so badly that I had nail marks on my body.

I don't know what was wrong with her. And then she pushed me so badly and banged my head on the rod," the Mumbai Mirror quoted her as saying.

"After the incident, I spoke to the director and told him that she is deliberately doing this. Acting is one thing, but this is just over acting," she said.

When asked asked if there was any enmity between the two of them, Pratap said that Malik must be 'insecure'.

"I don't know. I think somewhere she is just insecure or just waited for the opportunity to do something like this to me. As a result of the injury, I have marks on my forehead, which I have to undergo treatment to get rid off," she said.

Kamal Haasan wants Shah Rukh Khan for remake of his Tamil film

Kamal Haasan wants Shah Rukh Khan for remake of his Tamil film

Shah Rukh Khan is in a dilemma. He has to choose between the remakes of two Tamil remakes, A R Murogadoss' Ramanna and Gautham Menon'sVettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. Both offer the picky superstar Khan a chance to do something he hasn't done before. A South Indian remake with parts that he hasn't tried before.

Says a source, "While Murugadoss' film casts SRK as a social crusader, Menon's film casts him as a cop, a role he has played just once in Shashilal Nair's One 2 Ka 4and that too a plain-clothed cop. SRK has never got a chance to get into khaki uniform. This, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu will let him do."

Indeed, Gautham Menon informs that Shah Rukh is the only choice for the Hindi remake of Vettaiyaadi Vilaiyaadi. Contrary to reports, Salman Khan is not up for consideration for the Hindi adaptation of the Gautham Menon's 2006 Tamil hit Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu. It's Shah Rukh Khan all the way. Apparently, the mighty Kamal Haasan who played the role of the cop on the lookout for a serial killer in Tamil original, has expressed a keen interest in Shah Rukh playing the role in the film's Hindi version.

Says a source close to the project, "Kamalji is extremely fond of Shah Rukh. They go back a long way to the time when 12 years ago Shah Rukh agreed to do Kamalji's Hey Ram free of cost. When director Gautham Menon who understandably respects Kamalji's opinion asked the thespian who should play his role in the Hindi remake, Kamalji promptly gave Shah Rukh's name."

So Shah Rukh it is. Menon confirms this. Says the softspoken director, "I don't know where these reports of Salman Khan being an option for Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu are coming from. It's Shah Rukh Khan who's the first and only choice. Kamalji played the part in the Tamil original. So Shah Rukh seems the right candidate for the part."

Kamal Haasan says, "Yes someone like Shah Rukh would be right for the Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu remake."

Interestingly, Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu would explore the same dark noire cop-killer space as Aamir Khan'sTalaash

A source close to the project tells us that the only reason Shah Rukh has not given a final nod to Gautham Menon's remake is because he wants to see how Talaash is received by the audienc

Time for old actors to come back and take control: Mona Singh

Time for old actors to come back and take control: Mona Singh

Time for old actors to come back and take control: Mona SinghShe rose to fame as the desi "Ugly Betty" in "Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi", after which Mona Singh deliberately kept away from fiction shows. As she gears up to return to TV soaps with Ekta Kapoor's "Kya Hua Tera Vaada", she says this is the right time for old actors to come back and take control of the small screen.

"I have never planned anything in life; so this new show just happened.

Yes, it was a deliberate decision not to take up a show immediately after 'Jassi...' I was flooded with lots of offers, but I didn't take up anything because I felt if I did anything immediately after that, I would be compared to that show," Mona told here.

Post-"Jassi...", Mona switched to reality shows.

"To break out of Jassi's image, I had to get into reality TV. Now that people have known me as an anchor, as a participant and as an actor, now is the right time to come back to TV. It's time for old actors to come back and take control," added the actress.

Lately, actors like Mohnish Behl, Sakshi Tanwar, Ram Kapoor and Ronit Roy are getting to play key roles on the small screen, a long time after they established themselves with hit serials.

Mona, who went on to win the first season of dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa", also took to hosting reality shows like "Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega" and "Star Ya Rockstar" during her break from fiction content. She even made her way to the big screen with a small role in Rajkumar Hirani's blockbuster "3 Idiots".

Now she is returning to fiction content on the tube after six years and feels with latest shows like "Bade Achhe Lagte Hain" and "Kuch Toh Log Kahenge", Indian telly is going back to basics.

"TV has gone back to basics, relating to middle class family with real characters, less make-up and simple shots. I feel as an actor it is a delight to work in such shows," said the 31-year-old.

"When I was doing 'Jassi...', there was also 'Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi', which was the top show. Both the shows were at par with each other. But 'Kyunki...' was a very blingy show and 'Jassi..' was very simple, yet it did very well.

"After that I could not relate to TV because most of the shows were either village-based or were very rich in look. I couldn't relate with women working in the kitchen wearing kanjeevaram saris, and sindoor falling out of the head," she added.

In her upcoming show, which will go on air on Sony TV Jan 30, she will be seen as a sobre housewife.

"The show talks about what happens to a couple after 10 years of marriage. It's a mature love story and talks about the little joys in life as love between the couple goes out of the window because priorities change.

"You think only of your kids first, then yourself, then husband. I am sure most of the women, who have been married for the past 10-15 years will easily relate to this show," she said.

So the obvious next question - when is Mona taking the plunge into marriage?

"I do believe in the institution of marriage. I do see myself getting married, having children and being happily settled in life, but like I said I don't plan, so I don't know when it will happen but it will happen soon," she said.
